BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

BMI can be used to indicate if you are overweight, obese, underweight or normal. A healthy BMI score is between 20 and 25. A score below 20 indicates that you may be underweight; a value above 25 indicates that you may be overweight.

The most fundamental meaning of obesity and overweight is having excessive body fats that pose danger to the entire well-being. A reliable and effective way to know whether an individual has too much body fat is to count the ratio of their height to their weight squared. The body mass index (BMI) is the ratio that explains that shorter people have lesser tissue than taller people that is why they tend to weigh more. But, of course, BMI is not really a perfect measure, since it does not immediately assess body fats. Bone and Muscle are much denser than fats. It means that a muscular person or an athlete may have higher BMI, but not too much fat. Since most people are not athletes, they still believe that BMI is an excellent device to measure the level of fats in our body.

If we found out that we are in the stage of becoming an obese, or already one, then we should try to control the things which make us fat. We are prone to health risk that is why we should care for ourselves. We should, from time to time, check our BMI to ensure that we are in a good health. Don’t worry, because the internet allows us to access BMI calculators unrestrictedly, for as long as we have socks proxies.

You can calculate your BMI by using our BMI Calculator below, or by using the BMI Formula.

Please remember, however, that this is only one of many possible ways to assess your weight. If you have any concerns about your weight, please discuss them with your physician, who is in a position, unlike this BMI calculator, to address your specific individual situation.
